From death row….to a loving home!
Meadow Run has found homes for over 75 unwanted dogs over the past 11 years! We have placed Labradors, Jack Russells, coonhounds, beagles, German Shorthairs, and mixed breeds. Some have come to us with training issues which had to be resolved before they could settle into a forever home. We give our rescues a name, some skills for living in a home, lots of love, and then we match them to the right home.
A recent success story
Thomas was tied to a dog house for seven years. His owner brought him in because he was tired of him. After 8 weeks in a shelter, Thomas was running out of time. Who would want an old beagle? We brought him to Meadow Run, knowing it was his only chance. We taught him skills for living inside, how to walk on a leash, and how to come when he was called. After about 5 months, Thomas was adopted by a dog walker in Bay Village. Thomas now lives with other dogs, walks everyday, and spends a few weeks a year in Martha’s Vineyard!
Current dogs who need homes...
 Minnie is a smooth coated Jack Russell. She is about 3 years old, spayed , but has had a litter in her past. She is truly minnie – weighing only about 8lbs, but her energy level is high! She enjoys long walks, playing with toys, and loves other dogs and cats. She is a bit timid around men and children. She was rescued from a high kill shelter, and her past is unknown.
 Olive is a rough coated Jack Russell. She is spayed and about 5 years. Her family gave her up because she could not handle a household with SEVEN children. She is rather quiet, very loving, and would do well with older more considerate children. She is fine with cats, and good with most dogs.
