About Stacy Totten...

Meadow Run proprietor Stacy Totten combines a unique and successful training philosophy with a life-long love of animals. While growing up in Dayton, Stacy gathered valuable knowledge and experience by participating in a variety of animal-related activities such as the Dayton Museum of Natural History’s “Raise and Release” program for wild animals.

She combined her love of horses and dogs by acting as "Kennel Maid” for the Miami Valley Hunt where her responsibilities included the care, breeding and training of 40 English foxhounds. During this same period she also managed the boarding facilities of Dayton’s Old Stage Kennel and worked as a veterinary assistant at Miami Valley Animal Hospital.

After graduating from Ohio University in 1984, Stacy began a career in veterinary pharmaceutical sales, a position which included introducing new drugs and procedures to veterinarians in the Northern Ohio area.

She has trained her own dogs to “Utility” level in AKC obedience events and has received both AKC and Labrador Club hunt degrees. In 1993, her chocolate lab, “Alex,” ranked 54th nationally among Labs competing in obedience. She currently lives with a Jack Russell, a Toy Fox Terrier, a Bluetick Coonhound, a German Shorthair, and a Labrador.

In December 2014, Stacy graduated from the Karen Pryor Academy, and is now a Certified Training Partner. During this extensive certification, Stacy discovered the joy of clicker training and has incorporated it into her training programs. Her clicker trained German Shorthair, Stella, will proudly show off her many skills. On a tour of the farm, you will also meet a horse, a goat, a lamb and a cat who also respond to this wonderful style of training!

Stacy is actively involved with various rescue dog groups who send her their "unadoptable" problem children for behavior modification. For leisure, she gardens, works out, foxhunts her horses with the Chagrin Valley Hunt, and hikes on Paw Patrol in the Cuyahoga National Park.

Stacy, her husband Mark, and their two sons, Jake and Mackey, cordially invite you to come visit Meadow Run. Call for an appointment today!
